Intensity is among the words often used to describe the speed at which changes are taking place in the world today. Confusion is another used to describe the psychology of many teachers that work around the clock, devoting their mind to fulfilling their dream of nourishing the soul of their students, as they are faced with unprecedented challenges in history β lack of resources and direction for guiding their students in making connections with their future. Distress, therefore, is a natural byproduct of their day-to-day experience in engaging their knowledge and pedagogy with their students that thirst for extremely progressive needs.
Disruption is apparently what we see happening every month, if not every week, across the board. Yet, there is no organized effort nor voice of unity in facilitating accelerated adaptation of teachers to meeting demands of the society where inventions are necessary to succeed and survive, and where creativity, inventiveness, and originality are essential for inventions to take foothold in their classroom. Outside of school, opportunities for inventing experiences barely exist, and we have believed that the opportunities must be shared with teachers and, hence, their students.
This is why we, at Lighthouse Creativity, have dedicated much time to connect with teachers and students, and invested resources to help elevate the quality of their learning and inventing experiences in and outside of their school. For decades, many of us have been noted for our quirkiness, and now, we are doing more than we can to help teachers build a new ecosystem through which they can voice and act together, and where their desire and love to serve their students resonate in concert for the better tomorrow, for the better America.
